What does KIT stand for?

Keep in touch

Ever heard of the acronym KIT? It’s a cool, easy way for someone to tell you to “keep in touch.” It’s usually dropped at the end of a text, email, or chat to suggest you should stay connected or continue communicating with them.

Mostly, it’s used by people you may not see very often, or won’t be seeing much of in the future. They’re basically saying, “Hey, let’s not lose touch, okay?” They’d love to hear from you, be it through texts, emails, or even an old-fashioned phone call.

But let’s face it, not everyone is good at this ‘keeping in touch’ thing. It’s usually your closest buddies or family members you end up talking to the most. So if you forget to KIT with the person who asked you to, don’t sweat it. Chances are, they won’t take it personally.

Example for using ‘KIT’ in a conversation

Hey, how’s it going?

Hey! It’s going good. Just finished my exams!

That’s awesome! Congrats! We should celebrate sometime.

Definitely! KIT, okay?
