What does MSQ mean in Final Fantasy XIV?

Main Scenario Quest

When you’re playing Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV), you might come across the term ‘MSQ’. This stands for Main Scenario Quests. These are the big missions that push the game’s story forward and often give players access to new parts of the game.

How much you can do with MSQs depends on what version of FFXIV you’re playing. If you’re on the free trial version, you can play MSQs that will help you reach level 60. These quests go by a few different names: the Seventh Umbral Era, Seventh Astral Era, Heavensward, and Dragonsong War Quests.

Every expansion of FFXIV comes with new MSQs. By playing these, you can level up more and keep the story going. The latest expansion, Shadowbringers, lets players get all the way up to level 80 by playing its MSQs.

Example for using ‘MSQ’ in a conversation

Hey, have you been playing FFXIV lately? I just finished the MSQ and it was epic! 🎮

Oh, nice! I’m still working my way through it. What level are you now? 🌟

I’m level 80 now, thanks to the MSQs in the Shadowbringers expansion. They really level you up! ⚔️

That’s awesome! I’m excited to reach level 80 too. Gotta keep grinding those MSQs! 💪
