What does Stunting mean?

Flaunting or bragging

Stunting is a slang term that refers to the act of showing off to grab someone’s attention. Generally, it’s about trying to impress a person you like, much like the desperate attempts made by a boy to get his crush’s attention.

The term is believed to be derived from the word “stunt,” which means planning and executing a spectacular act to attract attention. However, the exact origin of the term is unknown.

Stunting can be subtle or blatantly obvious. A subtle instance of stunting could be deliberately dropping a wad of cash from your wallet. Or, someone might dress up in a flashy outfit for a wedding to turn the heads of single women present.

An extreme example of stunting would be something like interrupting a school event to lip-sync to the favorite song of the person you’re trying to impress. Stunting, in essence, is about doing whatever it takes to catch someone’s eye.
