What does it mean?

Someone who uses TikTok

A TikToker is an individual who makes use of the video-sharing social media app TikTok. It’s a blend of the words “TikTok” and “user”, just like “YouTuber” combines “YouTube” and “user”.

While some TikTokers simply enjoy the app by watching others’ videos, most users upload their own content. This could be anything, from funny clips to motivational speeches, dramatic stories, or even how-to guides.

TikTok is a mobile app that lets people share videos with each other. It was first launched in China by ByteDance in 2016 under the name “A.me”, but later rebranded to “Douyin”. The app made its way to the US in 2018 when it merged with musical.ly, another popular video-sharing platform.

The platform is famous amongst celebrities, artists, teenagers, and young adults, and has become a significant part of pop culture. This is largely due to the “For You” (FYP) pages on TikTok, which use AI to suggest content to users based on their activity on the app.
