Muta

What does Muta mean in StarCraft 2?

Mutalisks

In the world of StarCraft 2 (SC2), when gamers talk about ‘Muta’, they are referring to the Zerg’s mutalisks. These mutalisks, often shortened to ‘Mutas’, are flying units that Zerg players deploy to annoy and disrupt the enemy during the initial stages of the game.

Mutas are known for their speed and their ability to attack both air and ground units. This makes them a versatile and effective nuisance for the enemy. Their weapon of choice is a projectile called the Glaive Wurm, which is capable of hitting three targets at a time.

However, each subsequent target hit by the Glaive Wurm receives less damage than the previous one. This doesn’t lessen their impact, though. Zerg players strategically use Mutas to cause chaos in their opponents’ mining processes and expansion plans, making them a key part of any Zerg player’s strategy.
