Tweeter

What does Tweeter mean?

Someone who posts tweets

If you’re active on Twitter, you might have heard the term ‘Tweeter’. This is a name given to anyone who actively posts, or ‘tweets’, on Twitter. Typically, a tweeter has a unique username or ‘handle’ that they use on the platform.

These tweeters don’t just post their thoughts and ideas, they may also send ‘tweetsults’. A ‘tweetsult’ is a tweet that may be offensive or insulting – a portmanteau of ‘tweet’ and ‘insult’. It’s part of the unique language that has developed on Twitter.

Most tweeters don’t tweet into the void, they usually have ‘twollowers’. This term is a fun combination of ‘Twitter’ and ‘followers’. It refers to the people who follow a tweeter’s account and see their tweets on their own Twitter feed.
