We been knew
WBK, short for “we been knew”, is a trendy way of saying “duh” or admitting that something was already known. It is often used in response when someone is stating something that is already obvious or well-known.
Although it’s not entirely clear where WBK originated from, it’s believed to have roots in African-American Vernacular English (AAVE). The full phrase “we been knew” started gaining traction on the internet around the late 2010s.
The condensed version, WBK, started to catch on and become more popular in the early 2020s.
