Bust

What does Bust mean in sports?

A player who isn’t good at playing

When a player fails to deliver on expectations, they are referred to as a bust. This slang term is widely used in sports like baseball, football, basketball, and even in fantasy leagues.

It’s common for fans and sports analysts to have certain expectations from players. If these players fall short of these expectations, they are quickly tagged as a bust. This can happen due to a variety of reasons like poor performance, injuries, and so on.

The term bust also finds a significant place in fantasy sports. Here, owners select players based on their potential to score points. However, if these players do not meet the projected point total, they are considered a bust.
