IDFK

What does IDFK mean?

I don’t freaking know

IDFK, or I don’t freaking know, is a slang term that you might use when you’re seriously clueless about something. It’s often used to express frustration or annoyance about not knowing the answer to a question.

For instance, let’s say your husband has been repeatedly asking you where his wallet is. If after the fifth time you still have no idea, you might respond with IDFK.

However, it’s important to remember that the ‘F’ in IDFK could be seen as a substitute for a rude word. So while it might be tempting to use it when you’re feeling annoyed, it’s better to stick with the more polite and widely used IDK (I don’t know) when responding to queries.

Example for using ‘IDFK’ in a conversation

Person 1: Hey, do you know what time the movie starts tonight?

Person 2: IDFK, I forgot to check. Sorry!

Person 1: No worries, I’ll just look it up myself.

Person 2: Sounds good. Let me know if it’s a good one!
